Why<\/h3>\n

Companies are investing more and more in securing their network. The best firewall, the most robust email security, and the most intelligent endpoint protection system.<\/p>\n

In many cases, this also stops more than 95% of the attacks. What do we do with the last 5%? Aren’t those the best-formatted mails? The targeted attacks because they are targeting your company. Sometimes the suppliers or customers of large companies are also attacked to approach their actual victims. After all, mail from a partner is more reliable and is usually whitelisted.<\/p>\n

Even apart from that route, it is a small effort for a hacker to launch a broad, non-targeted attack via private mails. An attractive document that asks for a Microsoft password when it is downloaded… The only Microsoft password the user knows is the office one, so they just try that, don’t they? The username contains the domain and Office 365 can be accessed from anywhere. So much for security.<\/p>\n

That’s just one possibility; if you think about it, you can think of dozens more.<\/p>\n

Content<\/h3>\n

There are several attack techniques that hackers use to lure the reader into that one, seemingly innocent click. One by one these are explained so that they can be recognized. The aim is to get the mail user to automatically pick up on suspicious signals. The idea of “it won’t happen to me” must be eliminated.<\/p>\n

The training is approached interactively, by group questions but also by means of an online quiz system to keep the attention focused.<\/p>\n

Over the course of an hour and a half, the audience’s awareness grows until some come to realize that they have crawled or are crawling through the eye of the needle.<\/p>\n
